Salir do Porto was a parish in the municipality of Caldas da Rainha, Portugal with an area of 9.86 km² and 797 inhabitants (2011). Density: 80.8 inhabitants / km². Salir do Porto is the town at the end of São Martinho do Porto bay where the Tornada river flows.
Salir do Porto has a river beach on the bank of the Tornada river that flows into the bay of São Martinho do Porto. Salir beach is famous for its 50-meter high sand dune [5]. Once the largest in Europe, the Dune of Salir stands out in the dune landscape of the Bay of São Martinho. The core of the Dune is partly made up of red sandstone, a trace of an older dune - fossil dune.
It was in the ruins of the artisanal customs of Salir that the caravels that participated in the discoveries and conquests were built, during the reigns of D. Afonso V and D. João II.
