PRAIA DA VIEIRA

Praia de Vieira (also Praia da Vieira) is a place in the Portuguese municipality (Freguesia) of Vieira de Leiria, in the district of Marinha Grande.
The place is known for its sandy beach. The river Lis flows into its northern section, bird watching is possible here.
Fishing was traditionally of great importance for the place, but is now only operated as a sideline. A monument erected in 1992 reminds of the history of fishing and its importance for Praia de Vieira. There are also replicas of the traditional, colorfully striped wooden houses on the beach.
The local church Igreja da Praia de Vieira, lined with black wood, is a listed building.
In addition to retail and banks, there are hotel and catering businesses on-site, as well as an adventure pool (Parque Aquático).
